Find Your Hat Size
Hat sizing is personal. Some prefer their hats snug, while others may prefer a looser fit. Keep your preference in mind when purchasing your new hats and buy accordingly (size up, size down or actual fit).
Measuring Your Actual Hat Size
- take a soft measuring tape
- wrap the tape around your head, keeping the tape parallel to the ground and about an inch above your ears
- measure over the "bump" in the back of your head (the occipital bone)
- get as close to a 1/8 of an inch as possible for the most accurate reading
Tips On Achieving The Perfect Fit
- if you fall between two hat sizes we recommend sizing up (unless you prefer a snug fit) for comfort
- measure a few times to confirm an accurate size
- don't pull the tape too tight
- these guidelines will find the best fit in hats for clients who take a "regular" shape in a hat
- are you long-oval? we have the ability to order many silhouettes in the long-oval shape. email us for suggestions on the perfect fit at info@millvalleyhatbox.com
